Heather Mason is a leading yoga therapist and the founder of The Minded Institute, an organisation that both trains professionals and develops, implements, and researches innovative yogic treatment methods for chronic mental health and physical health conditions. These programmes are evidence-led and based on the fusion of yoga therapy, mindfulness techniques, neuroscience, and psychotherapy.
 
Heather aims to bridge the worlds of yoga and healthcare, and has pursued a robust educational background over her career including an MA in Psychotherapy, an MA in Buddhist Studies, an MSc in Neuroscience, and an MSc in Medical Physiology. She is also a 500 RYT, a yoga therapist and an MBCT facilitator.
 
She lobbies for yoga’s inclusion into the NHS through her role as a founding director of the Yoga in Healthcare Alliance, and regularly helps to run and organise symposiums on yoga’s role in public health. She has also lectured on the neurobiology of PTSD and neurological mechanisms of yoga and mindfulness as relevant interventions at the world-renowned Boston Trauma Center, as well as developing a program for those with PTSD at the Maudsley Hospital in London, the main psychiatric hospital of the UK.
